TitleCONTAMINANT CONCENTRATIONS IN BIVALVE TISSUES ARE NOT NECESSARILY REPRESENTATIVE OF THE CHEMICAL STATUS OF A SITE
AbstractClam bioaccumulation is not always representative of the chemical pressure on aquatic ecosystems. The positive correlation between sediment and biota concentrations in contaminated sites can be lost as a function of environmental conditions such as sediment toxicity and food availability.
