AbstractClimate is the complex statistical evolution of the main meteorological parameters, taken together The most important meteorological parameters used for statistical analysis and for climate predictive model are: air temperature and precipitations Climate change means a long-term change, in the mean trend of meteorological parameters taking all natural and anthropogenic factors into account The World Meteorological Organization (WMO) identifies like a basis period for statistical climate analysis, a reference thirty year period The socio-economic impacts of a climatic trend may also depend strongly on where in the European region it is observed .... For example a temperature rise may be advantages for agricultural at high latitudes where the temperature is limited but this rise may have adverse effects at more southern latitudes. Changes in run-off will ultimately influence lake level characteristics; an increasing trends in heavy rainfalls will affect lake levels and increase the flood risk, as well as creating problem for the management of many dams The Lake Maggiore, too, have had a lot of problems linked to flooding: the last heavy flood occurred was around October 2000 when the lake level raised about 3.56 m in 4 days. Local historical texts give information about the many floods that occurred, since 1177; for this reason since 1829 the numerous flood events have been recorded with methodical measures Europe's vulnerability to drought is increasing due to increased demand for water in some sectors and regions, and the impact of climate change; Drought affects all sectors of society in very complex and interactive ways and therefore its economic cost is difficult to quantify. Changes in extreme climate are likely to have a greater impact on society than changes in mean climate; Flood magnitude and frequency are likely (a 66-90% probability) to increase in most regions of Europe; The European summer climate will affect the incidence of heat waves and droughts in the future. Climate change effects on aquatic ecosystems cannot be mitigated at the level of the river basins, but only at global scale.
