Particolare attenzione viene data allo studio della struttura (identificazione filogentica) e funzione della comunit\u00e0 microbica, componente chiave degli ecosistemi e che assicura la qualit\u00e0 del suolo e delle acque. La risposta omeostatica dei microorganismi alla contaminazione ambientale \u00e8 studiata attraverso la valutazione della loro capacit\u00e0 di biodegradazione delle molecole tossiche. La possibilit\u00e0 naturale dei microorganismi di rimuovere i contaminanti pu\u00f2 essere sfruttata in strategie di biorimedio, attraverso l\u2019aggiunta di ammendanti organici (biostimolazione), di piante (biorimedio fitoassitito) o di bioaugmentation.<\/p>\n<p>Attraverso colture di arricchimento, utilizzando come fonte di carbonio specifici contaminanti, \u00e8 possibile isolare singoli ceppi o consorzi microbici in grado di degradarli.<\/p>\n<p>Oltre al destino ambientale di numerosi contaminanti normati (es. Si eseguono inoltre saggi immunoenzimatici (ELISA, enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay) per il rilevamento di tossine (microcistina, saxitossina, brevetossine, acido domoico, acido ocadaico, ecc.) sia in acqua sia nei prodotti ittici.<br \/>L\u2019esperienza e le conoscenze maturate negli ultimi vent\u2019anni anni rappresentano un requisito fondamentale per la realizzazione di attivit\u00e0 finalizzate alla mitigazione, controllo e previsione delle fioriture algali dannose per la soluzione di problemi ambientali e sanitari ad esse connesse in ambito regionale, nazionale ed europeo.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\"><strong>Benthos:<\/strong><br \/>Il laboratorio di Benthos del CNR IRSA vanta una pluriennale comprovata esperienza nello studio e monitoraggio degli ecosistemi marini e di transizione.<br \/>L\u2019attivit\u00e0 del team di ricerca \u00e8 principalmente focalizzata sull\u2019analisi quali-quantitative delle comunit\u00e0 bentoniche marine per la valutazione della biodiversit\u00e0.<br \/>Particolare attenzione viene rivolta allo studio dei fattori biologici, ecologici ed ambientali che influenzano la distribuzione delle comunit\u00e0 e condizionano gli impatti (biodisponibilit\u00e0, bioaccumulo, distribuzione e escrezione nei diversi tessuti).<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;3_5,2_5&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il laboratorio di ecologia microbica funzionale del CNR-IRSA si occupa di descrivere le principali attivit\u00e0 metaboliche delle comunit\u00e0 microbiche naturali che, poste alla base della catena trofica eterotrofa, rivestono un ruolo determinante nei cicli biogeochimici e nella produttivit\u00e0 dell\u2019ecosistema acquatico. Lo studio della funzionalit\u00e0 microbica restituisce utili informazioni per valutare gli effetti delle alterazioni ambientali sulla trasformazione del carbonio organico in biomassa da parte delle cellule microbiche e rappresenta un valido strumento per la gestione degli ecosistemi acquatici.<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Nel laboratorio di ecologia microbica funzionale le comunit\u00e0 microbiche di ambienti marini e di acque dolci, includendo le acque sotterranee e i sedimenti, vengono descritte tramite:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">caratterizzazione della biomassa tramite numerazione delle cellule al microscopio ad epifluorescenza, citometria a flusso, immunofluorescenza e ATP;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">misura della velocit\u00e0 di respirazione tramite incubazione e utilizzo di substrati organici marcati;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">caratterizzazione delle strategie di alimentazione microbica sulla sostanza organica mediante misura delle attivit\u00e0 enzimatiche extracellulari su composti organici modello rappresentativi di diversi composti organici;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">misura delle attivit\u00e0 di sintesi di nuova biomassa microbica tramite utilizzo di substrati organici marcati con radioisotopi;<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">caratterizzazione della profilo fisiologico delle comunit\u00e0 microbiche e diversit\u00e0 funzionale tramite test metabolici.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row column_structure=&#8221;3_5,2_5&#8243; global_colors_info=&#8221;{}&#8221;]<\/p>\n<p style=\"text-align: justify;\">Seguendo i principi dell\u2019Ecoidrologia, la disciplina che studia l\u2019interazione tra processi abiotici e biotici per sviluppare nuovi strumenti per la gestione delle risorse idriche, il laboratorio si occupa di studiare la relazione tra caratteristiche idrologiche ed ecologiche in ambienti di acqua dolce e ambienti costieri. In particolare, ci si focalizza su aspetti di ecologia microbica sia delle acque che dei sedimenti. In ambiente fluviale, si studiano le relazioni tra caratteristiche delle comunit\u00e0 microbiche, i processi ecologici e i tempi di ritenzione delle masse d\u2019acqua. In ambienti lacustri e in bacini artificiali ci si focalizza sull\u2019analisi delle relazioni tra stratificazione delle acque e la dinamica di gas serra di origine biologica. Metodi molecolari sono impiegati per lo studio di biofilm microbici, sia in ambienti naturali in diverse condizioni di stress idrico e di portata che in sistemi artificiali a basso livello di ingegnerizzazione. <br \/>In una logica di una nuova bioeconomia circolare, il laboratorio di Ecoidrologia pu\u00f2 fornire supporto alla definizione di nuove tecnologie per trovare soluzioni basate su processi naturali (Nature-Based Solutions &#8211; NBS) per:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">riduzione di carichi inquinanti e la gestione della qualit\u00e0 delle acque (es. zone umide artificiali, sistema di biofiltrazione a sedimentazione sequenziale);<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">recupero nutrienti (es. barriere filtranti e isole galleggianti con innovativi materiali adsorbenti);<\/li>\n<li style=\"text-align: justify;\">produzione e utilizzo di biomasse (barriere a biofilm, nuovi fertilizzanti sostenibili).<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>In sintesi si fornisce supporto per aumentare l&#8217;efficacia di soluzioni basate su processi naturali per la rimozione degli inquinanti e per una corretta gestione delle risorse idriche in diversi contesti geografici e socio-culturali. <br \/>Lo studio della relazione tra idrologia e funzionamento degli ambienti acquatici superficiali permette anche di contribuire alla messa a punto di strategie di mitigazione dei cambiamenti climatici e all\u2019analisi dell\u2019impatto di eventi estremi sui cicli biogeochimici.<\/p>\n<p>&nbsp;<\/p>\n<p>[\/et_pb_text][\/et_pb_column][\/et_pb_row][et_pb_row style=\"text-align: justify;\">Il laboratorio \u00e8 dotato di strumenti analitici ed apparecchiature a supporto delle attivit\u00e0 di ricerca ed i servizi di monitoraggio, in particolare nel campo dell\u2019ecologia microbica si utilizzano le tecniche di ibridazione in situ e la microscopia ad epifluorescenza e confocale, unitamente a metodi molecolari per lo studio della diversit\u00e0 basati
